From canvas
to imagined worlds.

My art carries my Puerto Rican and Taíno roots into my Canadian life. Today, that journey reaches beyond painting into graphic art, digital composition, and the illustrated worlds of my books.

A little about me

A life led by curiosity.
A practice led by care.

I’m an author, artist, publisher, and researcher with Puerto Rican and Indigenous Taíno roots, and a home in Canada. My work moves between storytelling, visual art, and animal care, connected by a belief that compassion begins with paying attention. My doctoral background informs that curiosity, and I continue to learn from every project.

As co-founder and co-president of Green Carnation Press, I help bring 2SLGBTQ+ stories into the world. In my own books and illustrations, I make room for identity, resilience, imagination, and the lives that deserve to be seen.

Over the past year, I have pursued graphic artistry independently, developing the skills to illustrate the children’s stories I have long wanted to tell. The second edition of Dust Bunny Ben is part of that continuing creative journey.
